Blue Collar Special have been dared to play two shows in one weekend. With gleafull acceptance, the challenge will be met with open mouths and shaved faces.

We play Friday 5/26 @ the Key Club with many good bands and friends - Los Creepers, Naked Aggression, Hellbound Hayride, Society's Parasites, Sweet Sensations, and a few others, I think.

On Saturday 5/27 we play with the Street Dogs, the Johns, and the Scuffs @ The Knitting Factory. I highly suggest the Valley folk to utillize the subway for maximum drinkage and minimum driveage. Most likely we'll end up at my place afterwards for maximum retardedness and minimum soberness.

OK, since MySpace has taken over the web we have totally neglected our site. So after 7 months we finally decided we should update it. Since I made my last post Joey and I have started a magazine called Big Wheel. We get lot of help from a bunch of great people and we can't thank them enough. What the fuck else do I say here?.we have still been playing lots of shows, Joey is drinking more than ever, I stopped drinking and Johnny is pretty much the same?

It's been two months...damn time flies when you're having fun! We got a lot of shit to cover so I will just get started. First off I got married... I know, I know what your thinking, " why did you have to go and do that?" Well let me give you one reason, "THE PARTY". We had a fucking blast. It was held in a great restaurant in Topanga Cyn. John, Joey and Co. played music for us and everyone had a great time. (sorry ladies I guess Joey will have to do) Enough of that...BCS has been in Dogshit studios recording some demos which are, belive it or not, almost done. In fact Johnny will be here in a hour and we just might finish tonight... We played a show at Spike's Bar last Friday with Red Cavalier and the Cacti Widders...another great night with J.D., Tom and Ryan. Thanks guys. We are playing this Saturday with...just check out the flyer. Joey is still fixing cameras. Johnny is still building and repairing guitars. Chris got some teamster driving job and works a lot. I got a job for three days and now I am unemployed again.

Till next time,
Rafe

Hey dudes and dudettes! Joey here to talk some Blue Collar stuff. We played two shows this weekend; the St. Cyril's junior high dance on Saturday 2/12 and Zen Sushi 2/13. Both shows went awesome. I hope we can break into the catholic junior high scene a little more, maybe even play in the rectory of a church! The rectory is where the priests and alter boys get ready for mass, no pun intended. Good to see our Arizona friends the Half Empties, Nate and Keely the nice people who put us up when we get wasted in AZ and the Lucky Stiffs from S.F. The Hollowpoints started the show up and they were great, just great. This weekend is the 7th annual Punk Rock Bowling Tournament and we will be there getting crazy. Then Rafe gets married so we won't be playing until the end of March. Congrats to Green Day and Motor Head getting Grammy awards. Props given where props are due. Hope to see you in Vegas, not like I'll remember.

Hey Kiddies...Lets see here, this is the news section so what news do i have to tell...hmmm...Well BCS is currently in my garage writing and recording some demo stuff...also the beautiful month of February marks two wonderful events. Valentines day and the Punk Rock bowling Tournament. Those of you without a special someone can always take yourself out to a nice dinner and buy yourself some flowers. That has worked for me in the past. The following weekend will be drunken debauchery in Vegas...You should try and be there! Oh yeah...news, i forgot. We have some more shows coming up so be sure to check the shows page. This Saturday, Feb. 5th we will be at the Doll Hut in Anaheim w/ Pistol Grip, ACO and Bad Reaction...that should be a really good time so get out there and buy the bands some beer, or just say hi to Lulu. See you there

news guy!

Las Vegas ....it makes the most sane and sensible people go wild and nutz, and makes the wild and nutz people obscene and strange. The show at the Double Down went off, the place was packed. Bad Reaction started the night off. They were followed by a Vegas band. Unfortunately I couldn"t even get inside to check them out it was so packed. Then Bridget The Midget (yes, the punk rocker/ porn star)...decided to go on. After about an hour and a half of set up time (NO BULLSHIT), they graced us with there musical stylings. After an hour and a half of playing they decided to stop and then take there sweet time breaking down. At about 2:30 we played followed by Angle City Outcasts. They were awesome! I just wish I knew more about guitar so I could have a clue as to what kind of crazy sick shit Tac is doing..... either way it is unreal. At 4:30 we get back to the hotel. John and Jo stay up, Rafe crashed out, and myself and a couple of buddies decided to go to the Crazy Horse too, which I heard was a crazy fucking strip club, but in fact it turned out to be just another strip club. At the time it was allot of fun, as a matter of fact $900.00 of fun. When I walked out of the place I felt so lame and wasted. As Joey put it, my wallet will never look at me the same again. Needless to say, when we go back this Feb. 18th for the bowling tournament, I will be leaving my credit card in the hotel room......well maybe I will.

Our show with Smogtown was cool, except we ate too much while we waited to play (FOOD LUDE!)….hey we had to fill close to 2 hours, That’s right, like fools we got to the show on time…hah…you’d think we’d know by now. Thanks to all you homies that showed up. Oh one last thing, for the first time in 8 years, BCS has a manager. Sweet.

Last Friday's show at the Troubador was awesome. It was our third show with Chris and his first in front of a large audience. He better not get used to that. Anyway, great show. I think some other bands played too. Our next show is at Zen Sushi on 12/17 with the great dudes Smogtown as well as a few other bands. As the holiday season envelopes us all and we all start spending shit loads of money on each other for the benefit of some kind of ?spirit of giving, or Christmas spirit? or some other bull shit we all buy into, let us remember what falls under the Holi-dont's and Holi-dos. Holidon't #1: Buy the kids educational toys they won't use, enjoy, or cherish. Let them become commercially deprived in order to lead a fruitful and non-capitalist way of life. It also dampens their optimism and gives more times for chores. Cool toys only waste valuable time, cost a lot of money, and are made of so much plastic that it is justifying war with the oil riddled countries of evil. Plus, these toys pale in comparison to the G.I Joes, Legos, and Star Wars toys of the early Eighties. If the CEOs that run the toy companies, aside from the world, see a viable market in the revival of replicating these classic toys of not so long ago, then they can make their billions and I can finally stop dreaming about how I burned, buried and flushed all those old friends I called ?the vuncha men?, because I couldn't say adventure men. That's the real meaning of Christmas, profit and peace of mind.

Signed,
A Merry Can

Every Blue Collar Special member has chosen to write a few words for the website. Each will be posted as soon as they arrive and that will be a majority of the content for the news section in the future. Stay tuned . . .

After months of hard work and a few weeks of not-so-hard work, the guys have finished converting a garage into a full rehearsal studio with recording equipment. This is the first step in their plan to record a new album, go on tour, and take over the world.

The new website is still being finished while content is being collected. It will be up and running as soon as the new year begins. February marks another entry into the Punk Rock Bowling Tournament as Rafe, John, Joey & Chris try to win the trophy and all the girls!
